Give Jack Time

Grealish-1200x600.png

Jack Grealish may have a record price tag hanging over him which draws attention and criticism, however we need to give him time. I believe he will come good.

Manchester City are off to a flying start this season and have already imposed their dominance on the Premier League - mostly due to the dynamic duo of Kevin De Bruyne and newcomer Erling Haaland.

Haaland has already scored over 10 goals this season and look on course to smash Mohammed Salah’s record of 32 goals in a 38-game season. Kevin De Bruyne is doing what he does best and is cementing his reputation as one of the best players ever to grace the English Premier League.

Pep Guardiola’s men are firing on all cylinders both in the domestic league and in Europe, yet one player has attracted headlines for all the wrong reasons.

LORD PING: FOR OPINIONATED PLAYERS

Lukewarm Start To Life At City

Jack Grealish, City’s £100 million man, has endured a lukewarm start to life in Manchester and has only notched up a handful of goals and assists since joining from Aston Villa.

A low-key performance against Borussia Dortmund in September led many to wonder what value Grealish was bringing to a Man City side who were already fabulous before his arrival.

The former talisman of Aston Villa, the 27-year-old forward has yet to hit third gear at the Etihad Stadium - despite him being there for over a year.

Premier League All-Star Suggestion Is Ludicrous!

Premier League All-Star Suggestion Is Ludicrous!

Never Disappoints For England

Grealish seems to be a man with two lives. His club form is often the source of criticism, yet England fans clamour for him to feature more in games.

He was the nation’s hero during Euro 2020 and, despite being benched for most of the tournament, his performances were good enough to cause cheers whenever he was unleashed on the pitch.

Whether it’s due to a different style of play or a different manager, Grealish has never disappointed in an England shirt and he remains an essential part of Gareth Southgate’s plans. I fully support him after his recent critique, and back him to play an integral role in England’s pursuit of the World Cup this winter.

Grealish Response

Grealish spoke on his form at a recent press conference and stated: ‘’I probably haven't been playing at the top of my game since I've moved to City, but I think I've shown glimpses of it and over the next two months especially, I'm just going to try to get my head down as much as I can, work so hard and hopefully good things will happen.’’

Let us not forget that it took City mainstays Riyad Mahrez and Joao Cancelo a considerable amount of time to adapt to Pep’s style of play, and we should treat Jack Grealish exactly the same. He has a World Cup to win, who are we to get in his way?
